Ethiopian distance running star Kenenisa Bekele will wait until after the men's 10000m final to decide whether he will take part in the 5000m at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

In a telephone interview with www.ethioberlin2009.com, the 27-year old said, "I am entered for both races, but I will only decide after the 10000m on Monday. I have to run the 10000m and see how I feel first. I will then decide whether to run the 5000m."

Kenenisa's decision to double in Berlin is complicated by the fact that he is chasing the IAAF Golden League jackpot and has to run the fifth leg of the series in Zurich (28 August) just days after the men's 5000m final (23 August) and Brussels a week later (4th September). If he doubles, he will have covered 20,000 in the space of seven days at the world championships before he kickstarts his jackpot chase.

But the double Olympic champion has gone through such a hectic schedule before. Last year, he run and won the Olympic 5000m and 10000m double in Beijing and took the honours in Zurich six days after his triumph in the Bird's Nest stadium.
