Kirani James of Grenada earned his third World Athletics Championships medal in the men's 400 meters Friday by clocking 44.48 seconds to finish second at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. James won the World title in 2011 in South Korea and took third in 2015 in Beijing. He also has captured three Olympic 400 medals, earning gold in 2012 in London, silver in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and bronze last year in Tokyo.
