EXCLUSIVE: Asafa Powell - the time is right for me to nail Usain Bolt at last

The world’s fastest man this year was like any wide-eyed Chelsea fan when he became one of the thousands who take a tour around Stamford Bridge. 

Asafa Powell, in the capital ahead of the World Championships which begin in South Korea this weekend, even took his turn behind the desk in the press conference area and discussed a mythical £17million transfer to Roman Abramovich’s club.

Like his compatriot and great rival Usain Bolt, Powell sometimes wonders what might have happened if he had stuck with his first love of football, and if he might be now lining up alongside his favourite player, Didier Drogba.
