The Russian Yelena Isinbayeva, world record holder and two-time Olympic champion in the vault jump, will travel to the oriental city of Vladivostok (Pacific Ocean) a week before traveling to the World Championships in Daegu (South Korea) to get used to the conditions.
"I have no doubts that the athletes will adapt to the new timezone. On the other hand, the adaptation to the new weather conditions is a more complicated process," affirmed on Wednesday Valentin Maslakov, chief trainer of the Russian Athletics Federation FRA).
Isinbayeva will travel on August 10 to Vladivostok, city that is very close to the Korean peninsula, when the competition for the event will take place on the 27th, according to Russian agencies."We do everything possible so that our athletes can adapt and achieve their best results. The important thing is that many of our athletes have already competed in Daeku," he said.
